Optometry's Meeting^® is the premier event of the optometric profession. Every summer, thousands of ophthalmic professionals gather at Optometry's Meeting^®to network, learn, be introduced to new products and have fun.

Optometry's Meeting^® is a combined meeting, bringing together the annual meetings of the American Optometric Association and the American Optometric Student Association. In addition there are hundreds of affiliated professional groups that meet during the four-day event.

Continuing Education

Optometry's Meeting^® supplies over 200 hours of top-quality continuing education including up to 30 hours of free O.D. CE offered in 2010! Courses take place Wednesday through Sunday for Optometrists, Paraoptometrics and Students. Most Optometrist courses are COPE-Approved, and several are Transcript Quality courses. Many Paraoptometric courses are approved for ABO or NCLE. Student education includes NBEO preparation courses.

Exhibits

The Optometry's Meeting^® Exhibit Hall is a must see for all optometric professionals. Packed with the latest technologies from industry leaders attendees can receive hands-on demonstrations of new products and services. In addition, it is the place to make business contacts to help grow their practices. The Exhibit Hall also offers many opportunities to win cash prizes and much more. Each day many exciting events are hosted in the exhibits area with the highlights being the Thursday evening "Wines from Across Our Nation" and the Friday "Buck-A-Beer" events.

Events

Attendees of Optometry's Meeting^® are treated to highly entertaining Keynote Speakers. Registration includes admission to the AOA Opening General Session which is graciously sponsored by Essilor. The 2010 keynote speaker is Frank Abagnale, one of the world's most respected authorities on forgery, embezzlement, and secure documents.

The Presidential Celebration is a can't-miss event which produces lasting memories every year. Sponsored by HOYA, this event will feature the dynamic comedian duo of Frank Caliendo and John Pinette! Make sure you join the fun!

Locations

Optometry's Meeting^® visits many of the exciting cities across America. This is done so attendees and their guests can take advantage of the many recreational highlights that are unique to the host city. Cities such as New Orleans, San Diego, Las Vegas, and Boston have been recent venues. The next few years include stops such as Salt Lake City, Chicago, and a return to San Diego.
