Be a part of the action in "The Town Square" where you can register for Optometry's Meeting^®, plan dinner with strangers, visit the AOA Booth, post messages on the Community Mind Map, get connected in the Social Link area, visit the AOA Foundation, re-charge yourself and your cell phone, or just catch up with friends and colleagues. "The Town Square" is sure to be your favorite place to visit during your time in the Exhibit Hall.

The Exhibit Hall has always been a place to network and catch up on the latest news and trends. However, it can seem a bit overwhelming at times. The Exhibit Hall's new design is designed with you in mind! The Hall is sectioned into several categories, like a retail market, for the ease and convenience of finding what you are looking for quickly:

Opticals, Frames, Lenses and Labs
Contact Lenses and Solutions
Diagnostics
Pharmaceuticals and Non-Profit companies
Computer Software, Financial Aids, Medical Devices, Low Vision, Accessories, and Ophthalmic Books/Publications

Electronic Registration Brochure

The Optometry's Meeting^® Preliminary Program is moving to an electronic format in 2011. With this technology, you will be able to access the e-brochure any time you have Internet access. In addition to the positive impact this change will have on our environment, the new electronic format will be user friendly and have some great features:

Entire contents will be searchable. Do a search for "Electronic Health Records" and the software will put together a list of pages containing the phrase.
Electronic book features tools that allow for easy e-mailing and online sharing (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) of individual articles, course descriptions, etc.
Access to links for additional information.
Easy to download with built-in tools for printing pages or sections.
News feed at the top of the screen will give latest information and display content not available at press time.

Optometry's Meeting^® is Going Green

The American Optometric Association and American Optometric Student Association recognize that it is the responsibility of the human race to stop waste, so going green will be a predominant theme at Optometry's Meeting^® moving forward. The meeting is joining the green movement by supplying biodegradable named badges, name badge holders, lanyards, and ribbons. At the end of the meeting you will be able to dispose of all pieces of your name badge without harming the earth. As we have done in the past, we will provide water stations, as opposed to water bottles. We will also be rolling out a new, completely green Preliminary Program. The Preliminary Program will be available on the Optometry's Meeting^® Web site in a format that is easy to read and download. Optometry's Meeting^® will also comply with all of our venues green initiatives, following any green programs already in place.

Ophthalmic Organizations Join Optometry's Meeting^® in Salt Lake City, UT

Optometry's Meeting^® and the ophthalmic industry have partnered to host a day of specialty education, symposiums, and networking functions with leading ophthalmic organizations. The American Optometric Association sections (Contact Lens & Cornea Section, Paraoptometric Section, Sports Vision Section, and Vision Rehabilitation Section) will be a few of the organizations in attendance. Plan to arrive at Optometry's Meeting^® in time to participate on Wednesday, June 15, 2011.
