Boasting 300 days of sunshine basking this outdoor adventure hub, Denver is only 12 miles east of the "foothills" with 200 visible named peaks as a backdrop. Air travel information

Optometry's Meeting attendees will land at Denver International Airport (DEN), only 25 miles from downtown Denver and the Colorado Convention Center. Below, attendees will find all the transportation information they need to get to and from DEN. NOTE: By Executive Order, all travelers must wear face masks while in airports, on commercial aircraft or in various modes of surface transportation. No matter how you choose to get around Denver, local transportation partners have taken extra precautions to ensure cleanliness and safety. Here's how you can get from here to there while in Denver.

Airport rail

Easy and affordable! Take the University of Colorado A Line train from the Denver International Airport to downtown Denver, a 23-mile commute that takes only about half an hour. The views from the train are scenic and the price is right: only $10.50. Luggage storage is available above each seat and larger pieces can be stored in luggage towers in each train car. Trains depart to and from the airport every 15 minutes during the day, 7 days a week. Early morning and late evening trains depart every 30 minutes. NOTE: All passengers are required to wear face masks and capacity is limited to 30 riders per rail car to facilitate social distancing.

Public transit

Operated by the RTD, SkyRide buses make hourly runs between Denver International Airport and also are equipped to handle passengers with luggage. Fare is only $10.50 to and from the airport. NOTE: All passengers are required to wear face masks and capacity is limited to 15 passengers per bus to facilitate social distancing.

Taxis & ride share

Taxis are available from Denver International Airport to downtown for a flat rate of $51 (+ $3.75 gate fee as when you depart Denver). Here are the taxi services to choose from:

Rental Car

Denver International Airport offers over 10 major rental car companies with agency kiosks located in Jeppesen Terminal. Shuttles pick-up and drop-off from Jeppesen Terminal Level 5, Island 4, outside doors 505-513 (east) and 504-512 (west).

Face coverings are required in Denver for those age 3 and over, and some capacity restrictions may apply based on local health orders. However, visitors should know that indoor, outdoor and carryout dining services are available (with expanded outdoor seating available), and most major museums and attractions in the metro area are open for visitors with many offering pre-reserved and timed tickets.
