Optometry's Meeting returns in 2021 with a reimagined program that intersects optometric practice solutions and integrated, paraoptometric-specific continuing education and professional development with the influential networking experiences that sets our profession's premier conference apart. So, what's in store for #OM2021? Take a look at the paraoptometric highlights.
Safety measures and protocols will be in place for all education, programs and events throughout Optometry's Meeting.
Come join your friends and colleagues as we kickoff this year's Optometry's Meeting, from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, June 24, with the Opening Event, supported by Johnson & Johnson Vision. We're proud to welcome former NASA astronaut and epidemiologist Jerry Linenger, M.D., Ph.D., to the stage as our 2021 keynote speaker. Famed for his dramatic 5-month voyage aboard the decaying Russian space station, Mir, Dr. Linenger is instantly recognizable as a space analyst and advisor for various news outlets and documentary series. Dr. Linenger will share an especially poignant message of resiliency and recovery despite extraordinary circumstances.
Optometry's Meeting truly distinguishes itself as the place where optometry's leaders convene and so new this year, the AOA will convene its Leaders Summit volunteer work meeting concurrent to the conference schedule. This alignment of leading volunteers and advocates ensures a meeting-of-the-minds atmosphere where optometry remains foremost.
Don't miss this annual celebration of AOA associate-member paraoptometrics, honored for their outstanding and significant contributions to the profession. Open to all paraoptometric staff, the luncheon includes a short message and awards ceremony.
Join us for this open forum where you and your peers will have time to discuss challenges and opportunities. This is your chance to network and share information on local issues, education opportunities and ideas on how to grow membership.
In-person: Saturday, June 26, 6 a.m. MDT
Virtually: Anywhere, anytime, between now and Tuesday, June 29
